In the first article by Halverson, he lists the type of colleges that were present in the post revolutionary era. There were developments that effected on the shape of higher education in this country. It has increased from nine permanent colleges at the end of the colonial era to 179 by the year of 1860. Colleges are named after a territory. In those school days they had learned about agriculture, the manufacturer, the mechanic, being a merchant. But as compared to today, colleges in the 21st century has changed and they learn more difficult courses today than before. After a couple of colleges they had made small private universities. Then in the late 19th century they established public universities they thought that opening a diverse group they will be able to control the groups.
Now in the modern universities what are the three majors and what are they trying to accomplish?
1. Instructions. Are the instructions clear enough to be able to follow through. Sometimes depending on a type of student who learns they need correct instructions or is the instructor good a presenting the directions?
2. Research. Is know for many of the researchers from long time ago depended on the works of whose researches are between federal government.
3. Public Service. A task that forms from such as county agents who are benefited from finding reliable sources for learning or research purposes.
These tasks are interrelated in different ways.
Is technology making our lives easy or more complicated? In my onion it's both. Sometimes when I need to look for a quick answer to a question I get the answers i need quickly. There are also times when I need more answers and online there isn't as much information i need and it limits my feeling of stress. (Just for short researching) Like wise if it's about Microsoft word, I believe it is very helpful, since now a lot of professors prefer hard copies to make it easier for them to be able to read the essays or papers.
Don't' think technology is bad for your Academic Advantages. In this 21st century it is a high chance that almost every teacher will have something to do online. Just like in my ENTH 21 most of ever little assignment is online and wanted a hard copy. I mean I am no saying anything bad about it. In high school I was those people that always printed out hard copies and the class tell me I am a very high achieving person. But I think not because I was introduced to technology at a time where I depended on it and I was use to use it.
Overall these two articles compare and contrast back in the 19th century and the 21 century. I think that learning or education of the resoucres has been evolving from time to time. I believe that maybe a hundred years for now technology will be seen in just eyes and not with electronics how we today use it.
