Homemade, made or prepared at home, locally, or by the maker's own efforts. Made in one's own country; domestic. I think homemade the definition for myself would be something that was learned and made from home or the place I am living at. I believe that the steps that I will take will be a lot behind than right now. I would learn how to write to people or something, but to be honest I think i will not know what to do.
Malcolm X wants to improve his vocabulary because he felt frustrated. He wanted to express what he wanted to convey in letters that he wrote. He tried to write regular but he wasn't that successful but instead he wrote in slang. He thinks that if someone reads his slang they would think he sound a little bit too off. He only completed his education until the eighth grade. It was an impression that was due to his motivation to study on in prison.
During his prison days in Charlestown Prison, Bimbi made him envy of the knowledge that he had. Every time when Bimbi took charge of conversations he tried to stop him but it was no use. He tried picking up books to read but he couldn't understand. He said that it was like reading Chinese. He went to the Norfork Prison Colony looking through book-reading motions. He received motivation from the books that he had picked up which was a dictionary. He would copy every page of the dictionary and write it all down on a tablet. He studied words and the best thing that he could of done was get to hold a dictionary. Now a days dictionaries are not as used as before in the 21st century since technology is so high. A dictionary to Malcolm X is like a encyclopedia.
In his prison he would not only just learn new vocabulary but also the history of his own and other minorities. He had read about how a white man could never produce a black man because the white chromosome is recessive and no one disputes that there was but one Original man, and the conclusion is clear. This quote from, "Findings in Genentics" by Gergor Mendel, although it's something I don't know how to explain, I thought that it was pretty interesting. Also the fact that he had learned about how Whites are on top of everything, to black, yellow, brown, and red with variety of sufferings of exploitation.
Reading in prison has changed Malcolm X forever and it was the course of his life. He sees today that ability to read, write woke inside of him and it was if he was alive again. His homemade education gave him a little sensibility of deafness, dumbness, and blindness that was affecting the black race in America. He believes no one had got more of it through prison how he did.
