From Carter’s passage, Outlooks and Insights: Succeeding on the Hob and in Life no matter what the first job is after college it is the first step to the real world. People have to start somewhere, building their skills, meeting new people, and developing work habits which makes it a positive, exciting challenge. Going into the work filed people get promoted, fired, laid off to and from smaller companies to larger companies, this doesn’t mean there is no other way to keep on going for the job market, options are limitless as long as you pursue them.
When he mentions about in the real world, people measure themselves by all kind of things as of how much they make, how much they spend… etc. I think of it as a show off, I know you have been through a lot to get where you are today. But you just have to know where you stand because some people might not get exactly like them. This connects to my relatives of my father’s side. Most of them brag about their life and what it is like to have so much. I believe they want us to think about how much they hare living life as it is. As of what he says, “Preserve your integrity and don’t let someone get the better of you. Your satisfaction will come from knowing that you took the high road.” I understand, one day I will reach that position, where as many people will technically brag about their daily life as “perfect.”
Having a job you have to be happy and satisfied with it. From observations of relatives, friends, colleagues, I hear sighs and groans when it’s their time to work. Even though they do not want to go to work they go anyways, because of what is being paid, most of them are at least a high school graduate to have those kinds of thoughts. Now, going into the article from Lacey and Crosby, Job Outlook for College Graduates is of that of having a degree you do get paid more. But is it true?
The higher degree you have the higher they are going to buy you. It is a term of saying the better degree you have more likely you are going to get the job. From data research, you do have higher earnings 2002-2012, 14 million job for the first time. More people are going back to college now and a huge percentage is going up. To be able to have a great position such as a lawyer a doctor. Etc. you will have to get those degrees to get into those positions. Yes, the world is changing and is changing fast than you think.
Higher earnings lower employment. I can compare this to working at a smart post. Where they had given their employees less hours every day. As day came by the employees noticed and they had quit their job. By doing that the smart post place does not have to distribute more money for them as their check. If there is higher earnings then less employment there is. For workers who have a masters, doctoral, or professional degree, median earnings are even higher. But for me it is not to discourage people who do not have a college degree or a high school diploma. They are trying their best to provide for themselves and are doing greatly.
